Safety & Risks of Dermal Fillers
Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Voluma XC and Juvederm Volbella XC are fully biocompatible substances based on elements that occur naturally in your skin. They are all FDA approved for cosmetic procedures on patients of all types. Side effects are extremely rare. Some patients may experience tenderness or redness at the injection site that generally fades quickly. In rare cases, patients may experience bumps, bruising or swelling which should subside within a week.
Your Dermal Filler Procedure
Dermal filler procedures usually take no more than 20 minutes. Injection points will be marked on your skin, and a nurse or aesthetician will apply a topical cream to help numb the area. The injections will be administered, and while there may be some slight pain, today’s needles are so fine that most patients experience almost no discomfort.
After Your Dermal Filler Procedure
You can expect to experience mild soreness, as you would after any injection, which will fade quickly. You are free to immediately resume all normal activities, though we recommend you avoid intense sun exposure for at least 24 hours.
Dermal Filler Results
You can expect to see some results immediately, and full results will be visible within 48 hours. Your skin will feel firmer and tighter, and fine lines and creases will be diminished if not gone all together.
